these are my activities from the whole month of march. march is crazy for me. meeting my friends, pohyee's 17th birthday and i went superjunior concert at KL! yay! i got my results today! and i don't have to retake supp paper. yay!! although my results were not that good but i'm happy already. to congrats my friends who got their results too. I've been going to school pass this four days for my global citizenship subject. been quite boring during lecture but my teacher is funny. she has work in Germany when she was younger. oh! oh! and I'm going to KL this sat for super junior concert. It's my first time going for a concert. happy!! and I'm going to Beijing and Tianjin on April for the subject I'm am taking now, and before heading ti China I'm determine to get my DSLR so i can snap snap pictures! but of cause I'm gonna pay myself but i don't mind though. still cannot decide on which camera to get though. have a lovely day guys!

four quarter of me

A little post before i head to bed and it's 00:16 midnight now. Exams this friday and I've not finish studying yet. Stress level is there. After exams it's gonna be holidays! Can't wait! and i wanna get my camera soon so that i could bring my camera for my beijing trip during the april holidays. Study hard for exams people. and i wanna catch up with my friends. Everyone's been busy with school life and i miss every single one of them.

that day

that day was meet up with cally. i miss her la! all she does now is work work and work. we did some catching up, glad to know she's sort off having 'fun' and work. having my 2 weeks school holidays now. Christmas is coming! don't know why so excited but just excited.

i had my check up for my thyroid condition last friday. the thyroid went too low, which was a expected results. which means my treatment is successful. currently been on a new type of medication to make my thyroid back to normal for about a month and we'll see how the medication works on me. hope everything goes well.

and i miss you girls!!!

everyone been so busy with their schools and life. make me miss y'all so much and yet there's nothing i can do! can we meet up please?

DEC-EM-BER

yesterday was the last paper for termtest. after that was sentosa with friends!!! it rained didn't even get to see the sun at all. not a good time to go sentosa during december. having my holidays now. it's not really a holiday for me. got lots and lots of project to do. what-a-holiday. people excited for christmas and count down here i am stuck with all my projects. at least it's enough to keep me busy. really so busy that now i don't have the time to do things i like.

i am going to the doctors tomorrow the check my thyroid. it's been 2 months since i've did my radioactive iodine treatment. i know myself that the condition of my body changes. i was diagnosed with thyroid since i was aged 14. i look like a normal person but i'm actually not healthy. i took medicine every single day without fail. after doctors tomorrow i will have to start my medication again but of a different kind. i used to sweat easily and after the treatment i don't sweat at all unless i exercise. i slim down cause i stop the medication which has an side effect of growing fat. when i first took the medication, my weight increased 10kg. i normally don't explain to people what thyroid is because they don't understand. i'll just hope that i can be healthy again.

christmas is nearing, i love exchanging gifts! but we don't have the culture in s'pore to celebrate thanks-giving. enjoy your holidays guys!

it's fall

it's fall now, ofcause in other countries. how i wish we have fall in Singapore, but it's okay this few days have been cold enough. while typing this i'm wearing my thick pull over sweater and wrap in blanket. schools hectic this semester. short semester but lotsa things to do. still working at hard rock, i've been lack of sleep this few months because of working. i'm thinking to stop working already. exams nearing and lots of projects to do. really can't wait for my holidays to come quickly. work and schools been keeping me busy and i don't really have free time like the past and do nothing. maybe it's better like that. my neck hurts from yesterday. DETERMINING THE EFFECT OF SOAP AND DETERGENT IN HARD WATER.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background Information

1.1.1 Contents of Hard Water
Hard water contains water that has calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions which will form when ground water flows over limestone and other mineral rock.

1.1.2 Contents of Soft Water
Soft water which are water that contains few or no calcium or magnesium ions. It will be formed when calcium and magnesium ions are replaced with sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+).

1.1.3 Contents of Soap
Soap is a substance that is derived from alkali acting on natural oils it emulsifies oil into tiny droplets which can be easily washed away. Although when using a good cleaning agent, the soap's effectiveness is reduced when used in hard water and suds will not be observed in hard water. When using soap in hard water, the calcium and magnesium ions in hard water react with soap to form a insoluble precipitate (residue) known as scum, thus it reduce the soap's effectiveness (Smith and Walker, 2007)

1.1.4 Contents of Detergents
Detergents are soap-like cleaning properties. They are made from synthetic products and chiefly petroleum derivatives. It contain the chemical, EDTA, which softens water. Where EDTA forms a soluble complex when in contact to hard water. Detergents won't form an insoluble precipitate (scum) when in contact with calcium-EDTA complex or magnesium-EDTA complex. The advantage is it lather well in both hard and soft water, it is also used widely in industry as it is able to disperse oil and hold dirt in suspension.

1.1.5 Contents of Oil
Oil is an organic substance that is insoluble in water. When mixed with soap, it is dispersed into tiny droplets which can be easily washed away.

an eighteen'th birthday celebration

this is wad i wore on the wedding dinner on the day before my maths paper. didn't have any full body one taken with my wedge. but i love my pair of black wedge. it's holidays now for a month or so. am working at resorts world hard rock cafe. sunita recommended me there. yesterday was only my second day and i did the kitchen. rather stress there and lots of things to remember. well, i'll treat it as a learning experience. i worked closing yesterday so i worked till 1am plus and i slept at 4am this morning. so long never sleep 'so early' already. okay i'm going to sleep now and going for a swim tomorrow.

2 days in advance

today was east coast with family and relatives. i cycle with ice-cream in one hand and did roller blading. but i kept drizzle the whole day. not a very good day to go for outdoor activities. and alot alot for Philippine people were there. i tried kite flying but i failed how ever i'm going to success another time if i had chance!

yesterday was day out in the evening with grace. we went to topshop for interview and not confirm if we are gonna work there. the manager asked me lots of questions like ' why do you wanna work in topshop?' working in topshop the manager require you to know how to dress and be fashionable every know how to match with their t-shirt uniform. i've never worked in retail and in a 'fashion industry' and y'all know i love fashion but i just don't have the luck and money to get in touch with fashion. i do really love fashion. love the polaroid grace gave me. thank you! muakks!

its badminton session

badminton for 2 hrs yesterday night. hand aching now its been a few weeks i've play badminton. heehehehe!

indoor badminton is quite good also as i sweat alot in the indoor court without any fan.

there were bangala doing the floor outside my house yesterday. so i had to step on these 'metal bridges' from my house to the lift to go out yesterday. and my house was at the corner so i had to cross 3 long 'metal bridges' hahahaha.

treatment or not?

i've been thinking for this past few days if i should go for radio-iodine therapy for my thyroid. its rather a difficult decision for me as it's a little too young for my age to receive the iodine therapy. my mum had the therapy when she was near age of 40 and her friends who had it are all middle age or older.

i'm having my appointment tomorrow with the doctor in the hospital. i've yet to surrender to the therapy for 4 years. and during this 4 year my condition is no where near good. furthermore i don't want my eyes to be bulging out in the future and my bones to be like an old lady when i'm only in my teens. there are many more side effects. so, i'm surrendering to the therapy soon enough and i'll look at my results tomorrow at the hops.

i wanna get cargo jeans form james jeans!!!! but their only available in uk. they have online shop but i need a credit card to make payment!!!

hard work and hard work

haven been using the computer for the past 4 days, because i was studying but i feel that i'm progressing very slowly... however i don't want to wait until the last min than i start regretting for not studying. so i'm gonna chiong as much as i can. i'm studying for like o levels now but with more stress. well... i shall not complain because i chose this road myself.

yesterday went for my regular blood test as appointment with the doctor is next monday. at first no one could accompany me until i asked liyi. hahaha. thanks to her i didn't have to go alone to shop for presents too.

saturday was dinner at airport. help dad to picked an Aussie lady, she from the s'pore dance theater. there was car boot sales at t3 car park. mum bought 2 tops.

decided to pull off a dress since i've not been wearing one for so long. love my sandals. pretty!

i slept for 12 hours from yesterday night till now. i had a wired wired dream. i dream that i was holding a flower given to me by someone and then the next thing i knew was i was holding to a DSLR camera taking pictures. hahaha. don't if it is wired but camera, my favourite. so! i decided that i'm gonna save money to get a camera on my own. and thanks mummy for the new wallet.

there was a time when...

a second chance

today was lab in school, did urine test. after school was gym with cally. yes!! 3,5KM!! woohoo!! self satisfaction. why? cannot ar? hahaha. enjoy my pictures below! hahaha.

i was reading something just now, and i like people who are philosophical . i like how they see things is a different way. mean of philosophical: If you are philosophical in your reaction to something which is not satisfactory, you accept it calmly and without anger, understanding that failure and disappointment are a part of life. accepting things that weren't meant to be yours is like learning something you don't like. i belive when you look at things in a different way, you start to understand that not everything will be they way you wanted it to be. failure and disappointment are part of life. learn to forgive and forget, and learn to accept things the way it is. by then, you'll find that life isn't as bad as you think it is. if you're sad, face it that you're sad and not by running away. if it hurts just admit that it hurts, like who doesn't get hurt.

maybe i'll wake up tmr morning not feeling this way because humans have multiple feelings. i told myself to work hard to go to a uni if i could. if i fail, at least i tried to work hard. (:

back from dinner from swensens. had durian ice cream, banana split and chocolate peanut butter. mygod! yesterday gym 3km gone. hahaha. schools hectic this week, test and quiz. make me wanna go crazy. poly life = no easy (especially when you're in a science course). yesterday was gym-ing with cally. hahahaha! holidays coming... but before holiday, practical exams, test and quizes again. oh well, i have to work harder for my exam and i HAVE TO work hard with this kind of lousy results i'm getting. i.... just.... am.... so lousy.

hey hey, i stayed home all day today. wanted to go for jog today but it was raining the whole day which made me feel like sleeping the whole day. ohgod! i promised to do research today ya? but i didn't do anything but online shopping and fb the whole day.

took pictures with webcam. okay i know my hair look so aunty at home. hahaha. but nobody's looking...

plan was to go sentosa tmr with classmates, but... plan cancel cause some people couldn't make it. so i had no plans tmr... who wanna ask me out tmr? of i have to wait till friday to meet up with eunice and huiqi!!! oh god! i need to go out badly. i don't want to rot at home!

okay i've got nothing to blog about. i find my life mundane... keep awaiting for holidays to come and yet it's holiday now and i've got nothing to do. little lazy to start my project. did some research and tv the whole day.

went for check up today. my medical report says that my thyroid went from high to low. now that my thyroid is too low. very ma fan leh. hahaha. so bored. i promise myself to do research tmr okay? hahaha. and i'm sure i'm gonna fail all my term test. but i'm gonna study hard after term break ends.

ohya went for hair cut today with mama and pohyee. thought that my hair was boring and i wanna snip of my ends.

the thing in me...

i don't normally tell people what sickness i have. because normal people don't understand what i meant when i explain to them. what i have is called the thyroid disease. thyroid is part of our endocrine system, where the thyroid is a large endocrine gland found at the area where our neck is. everyone has a thyroid, but people with thyroid disease, like me, will either have hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.

what is thyroid?

The thyroid is a large endocrine gland found in the neck within the human body. It regulates the speed at which energy is burned and protein is made, as well as the sensitivity the body should have toward other hormones. When thyroid problems affect an individual, different diseases can be present.

and as for me i had hyperthyroidism.

Hyperthyroidism is a condition of overactive thyroid function, leading to excessive production of thyroid hormones triiodothyronine (T₃) and/or thyroxine (T₄). As thyroid hormones control several body functions, including metabolism, this excess causes extra stimulation which speeds up some body systems. Thyrotoxicosis is used to describe hyperthyroidism which is presenting symptoms (is symptomatic).

for me, i discover that i had thyroid when i was in sec 2 (14 years-old). the doctor told me, i was too young to be having thyroid problems. i had thyroid problems because it was inherited by my mum. i had never blamed her for that. though i may look healthy but my immune system is low and much much more stuff. i have been under medication for 4 years and doctors are advising me to take up the iodine treatment to kill my thyroid cells, where after the treatment i will have to undergo medication for the rest of my life.

term test are finally over, and its time for term break!!! but term break = to 2 weeks of project.

went for a wedding dinner on last sat, many thoughts went through me. looking at couples getting married, looking at ppl divorcing, looking at young kids to elderly this made me think about my own life. i believe everyone has it's unique lifestyle. and i want to live my life to the fullest. and not wasting time on things i shldn't and being unhappy about. as said, let bygones be bygones, no point bearing grudges from the pass. and as for myself, i believe that i no longer hate the pass and it will remain as a memories, a memory of wad i've experience. and soon when we get older, looking back at those memories, we will find that life is full of wonders.

life is too short to be unhappy about.... so people SMILE :)

gosh! it's been llllooonnggg since i've update. okay work is an excuse, after work shopping also an excuse. hahaha. tired la.... nothing's up recently. work as usual. shiyun's back from taiwan. shopping recently. mama been nagging. i know i must control. controlling at the moment. school starting in no time. i like so long never study alrdy than ask me to study in another one months time. hahaha. not really excited though.

being alone at home is so boring. at least i'm working for else i'm fa mei at home. hahahaha. although some people love being at home alone. i'm waiting for 'times up' for work. hahaha. as usual i'm surfing the net and i found interesting blogs about fashion. and i didn't know there are so many people crazy over fashion. as wad people always think it is very difficult for people who learn design to find a job in s'pore. unless.... you go overseas. but you need money!!!

so i went to look for the fashion from the 50's, 60's and 70's. hahaha. did i mention i love retro and vintage stuff??? hahahahaha. i love retro and vintage! here are some of the clothes i've found. they are pretty!!

it's the chinese new year season now but i have to start work on the chu san. i need my holiday!!! hahaha. but i went for my CNY cruise trip. muhahaha. although i've been to curise for several times, but i never went during CNY. hoho!

it's called the SUPER STAR VIRGO. and as i knew they have many many other cruises. the cruises are all named after horoscope. they have star leo and more. hahaha. my cruise virgo therefore is a chu nu (a virgin). hahahaha!

and it's the CNY period, so we went to bai nian and stuff. was so tired this few days i keep sleeping in cars. i hate to sleep during journey cause i don't like waking up with my neck all sore.

the two things why i look forward to CNY are: hong bao's and new clothes! muhahaha!

looking at other people blog's/livejournal's makes me wonder what's the purpose of my blog. people used it to write their everyday lives, used to update nice quotes, to allow others to update themselves from their lives, scolding people in blog; not referring to anyone in particular. and sometimes it makes me think that is my blog boring. ohwell, i think that it's my blog, so whatever.

it's going to be valentine's day and CNY in the next couple of days. and i'm looking forward for ANGBAOS~ muhahahaha! i know la i have 'ang bao' face ma! cannot meh? my throat sore and i'm dry-coughing non-stop. and it's going to be new year soon and i can't eat all the nice food!!! argh! oh oh oh! and i'm going on cruise from the 12-14. hahha! and i'll miss you.

practically my computer was fixed on sat by my cousin. hahahaha. alright. i worked at the air show from 2nd-5th feb. it was tiring but worth it. 10 bucks per hr man!! hahaha. pictures bellow are taken inside the air show. we've passed to get into there. people in the air show buy and sell air planes. from private jet to the normal one you see in the airport. all from different country. and it's very big inside!

my foot was swollen when i got home on friday... and it was so painful, when mummy touch it lightly and it woke me up from my sleep. hahaha. and i went to see the tie da on the next day and i have to take two days mc from work. cause i cannot even walk properly or even wear my shoe. and the doctor message the swollen part, my foot turn red and even more swollen. so i have been staying at home for this two days. i miss staying at home before i found my job. hahaha. staying at home i can do alot of things although keep hearing mummy scolding me for different things. hahaha.

can't really see my foot swollen here. but it got worse the next day. i even have difficulty walking. and it's my foot hor, i know it look like a male's foot. haha!

just look at how swollen my foot is. actually the slit in the centre is for me to wear my slipper. hahaha. look like some alien foot.

wired way for casting my foot huh? hahaha.

i didnt blog this few days is because i didnt like to blog without pictures. and i didnt really take pictures recently cause i was working. hhahaha. and some recently took pictures are with grace. and everyone is busy choosing the course..... and i took some pictures yesterday so here i am to put them on. hahaha.

on the 3rd January(sun) i went to sukura to celebrate early birthday for me with family and cousin. i tell you ar, i eat until super full. hahahaha. the food there was not bad, we had a WIDE variety of food to choose, 12 types of ice cream and many many little cakes for desert. i was too bust eating and didn't take pictures of the food. hahahaha. it's sakura international buffet. i didn't want to eat steamboat as Chinese new year is coming and we get to eat steamboat during that time. so i didn't want steamboat. hahaha!

i turn 18 today and it's the 4TH of JANUARY! hahaha. maybe 18 sound a bit old and i'm not really prepared to be 18 so soon. hahaha.
and before the clock strikes 12, i'm still able to make my wish right? and although i only have A WISH or 3 WISHES, but can i be a little greedy to have a LIST of WISH? okay, so here goes my WISH LIST

okay! this was the best fireworks picture that i've taken that day! wahahahah!

i know the picture is bright due to the flash and look at my sister face!

i was in school uniform this morning. and why? to collect the merit bursary award. and only 6 sec 5 were there among the 691 students who are collect the awards also. and 3 of the sec 5 were: syhuhaidah, melivile and ofcause me! hahaha. 3 from our school! and i've got 350bucks for that! don't rob me i tell you! or i kill you! hahahahahah! crazy.

it's christmas yesterday! and i went to visit the science centre with family and relatives. hahaha. many many kids there. was fun and tiring though. we walk for 4 hrs! i wanted to see the body world but... ticket to expensive. hahaha. but i've seen it once alrdy, so it's okay. i've yet to give x'mas present to friends yet, and although x'mas is over but i still want to give. hahaha.

i've watched project runway last episode ytd, which was shown on 19th nov in new york, and carol hannah (the designer that i adore & admire) didn't win, but irina shabayeva won. she's a great designer too. but i still love carol hannah's dresses! the 3 finalist were to design a 13 runway look in New york fashion week. that means 13 pieces of design, design by you and done by you.

well... this is carol hannah!

a lil story about her: she start sewing barbie doll clothes ant the age of 7 and she's a graduate of the Collage of Charleston with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Arts. she's currently a freelance designer. she didn't have any formal design training and she taught herself (design) by library books from the 60's and 70's.

i really enjoy myself in Vietnam. haha.
the places i've been to are great. and i also
went to see the former leader of Vietnam's; Ho Chi Min's
dead body. is really his dead body. too bad we can't take
pictures. or not i'll definitely post it. hahaha. we watched
water puppet show. been to a few temples. been to places
like their 'palace' where in the past only students with
great result could go in, where only the 'king' could enter.
we've row in small boat and went to xia long wan to board
on big ships. we've climb into caves and see many interesting
things inside the cave. like wow!! haha. pictures here are only
from my hp cause my sister haven upload the pictures from
the camera to the computer.

they still have farm where farmers grow rice, corns

& more. in s'pore road, we hear very lil ppl horn, but

in Vietnam, horns sound are every where. traffic is crazy

and their most common vehicle, not cars, but motorcycle.

and a motorcycle can even sit up to 4 person. haha. men

and women there are small in size and women there

are thin, mostly. men there whose average height is only my height.

they do have pretty girls but not alot. in very long long time

ago, Vietnam uses Chinese like us. but they change their

language, which is invented by a french guy, in order not

to allow the china;s to understand in the past. okay, too

much info alrdy.

hahaha. and don't think that vietnam is a not so
develop country. they have 5 star hotel here. they
sell burberry, esprit and many more. but only in
one part of vietnam. but it's cool. hahha. the weather
here is cooling. like genting. but ppl here wear until
very kua zhang. hahaha. maybe they trying to learn
from korea. motocycle is their main transport. i've
yet to go other places cause yesterday i arrive at
vietnam - hanoi at night. and their one hr slower than
us. so imagine i ate my dinner at 10 o'clock s'pore time.

the own unique designs and they produce designs of their own.
it feels so good and proud to see ur design on the runway.
project runway is on every thursday, channel 5, at 10pm,
and i think it's going to end soon, cause there are only 5 designers
left on this season 6. so faster watch! haha.

and of cause you must learn from the basic like sewing,
colour matching and many more. as a designer you must
have a sense of originality. as for me, i like to go onto the net
to search for how people match pieces of clothes together and
wear them out on the street. haha. i know its only a dream and
i will never got into project runway. but i really hope i can design
something of my own, and its really MY OWN. okay, I'm still
currently sick, have not fully recover yet. man! it's not nice
being sick. nose block, ear block. cough...
